ESSKA 2010’s PT Programme extended thanks to DJO

Following the success at recent ESSKA Congresses, the special Physical Therapy (PT) Programme is now an established and valued element of ESSKA’s bi-annual meeting, and the Programme at ESSKA 2010 in Oslo (June 9-12 2010) will be no exception.
Indeed, the organizers have agreed to extend the 2010 PT Programme to three days to allow extra time for clinical workshops at the Olympic Center and the Sport Medicine Clinic, Hjelp24 NIMI, in Oslo. These will be organized in close collaboration with the Norwegian Sport Physical Therapy Organization (FFI) within the Norwegian Physical Therapy Association (NFF).
The first two days will be filled with lectures, clinical guideline lectures, free paper sessions and additional poster sessions. May Arna Risberg, the Chair of the ESSKA PT Programme has been instrumental in its planning: “We are looking forward to an exciting international, multidisciplinary conference with evidence-based updates within rehabilitation and musculoskeletal injuries and disorders and some of the best invited guest lecturers from all over the world.”
Topics for the PT programme will include ACL injury - evidence based rehabilitation and prevention strategies, cartilage injuries and osteoarthritis of the knee - evidence based rehabilitation, the latest evidence on shoulder dysfunctions and rehabilitation and recent advances in the rehabilitation of patients with muscle-tendon injury.
With a growing Recovery Sciences division, DJO is delighted to support ESSKA’s Physical Therapy Programme at the 2010 ESSKA Congress and will be awarding a Compex 3 Multifunctional Estim device to the winner of the new DJO Research Award for the ‘Best Free PT Paper’ presented during the Congress.
Lieve Vanden Berghe, DJO’s Sr. Vice-President, International Marketing explains further: “DJO’s Recovery Sciences division includes leading PT companies Chattanooga, CefarCompex and Artromot. We believe our ongoing research projects and collaboration with you, the PT professionals, will help us to continue to identify and develop innovative new products to support your work. Our Chattanooga team, for example, has for many years, worked with their distributors and PT’s to develop technologically better and more practical equipment to help them achieve optimal treatment outcomes.”
