Plantar fasciitis is a disorder found at the insertion site of the ligament on the bone often presenting with micro tears, collagen breakdown and scarring. 4 - 7% of people experience heel pain and approximately 80% of these cases are related to plantar fasciitis1. It’s estimated 10% of people experience the disorder at some stage in their life2. The older one gets, the more vulnerable one becomes to the condition.
Immobilizing pain is itself an obstacle to recovery in the case of heel-related disorders, and so mitigating this pain, while also stretching the damaged ligament, is a top priority.
Night-splints are well documented as not only having an analgesic effect on patients with plantar fasciitis3, 4, but actually providing a long term resolution of symptoms5.
With previous splints such as the Procare ProWEDGE and the Plantar Fasciitis Night Splint, DJO demonstrated the efficacy of the treatment. Now, with the new Procare Pro Night Splint, treatment has been perfected.
Let’s look at the Pro Night Splint against previous products:

ProCare has become a widely-recognised and respected brand in hospitals, clinics and professional retailers all over the world, thanks to its wide range of reliable orthopedic bracing and soft-goods products.
Patients prescribed a ProCare product know they are in safe hands. Immobilisers, braces and supports for both upper and lower extremities are designed to help bring patients back to a point where they can enjoy movement again while at the same time benefiting from a more comfortable healing process.
The Pro Night splint exemplifies the comfortable approach, providing a gentle stretch to help alleviate the pain and discomfort associated with plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis. It achieves this via its unique features:
1. The Pro Night Splint fits on dorsal side of lower leg and foot for comfort and ease of ambulation
2. Cool, open posterior design
3. Maintains foot and ankle in neutral position with a low profile fit, which is ideal during sleep
4. Easy application with two contact straps
5. Fully padded anterior shell and foot pad
6. Cost effective for patient & clinic
